1 1/2 eggs the richer

Mia had the first Easter egg hunt of her entire life tonight, and she did fantastic. She scored 1 1/2 eggs. We went out to the Plaza District, one of the coolest neighborhoods in Oklahoma City. They have fun activities every month, and their theme this month was Easter. First, we listened to the rules from our friend, Kristen, who runs the Plaza District and happens to be a spectacular artist. Halfway through her instructions, the children scattered. Because Mia was shorter than most of them by, say, 2 feet, we decided to sneak down a quite alley that didn't have any fast children to snatch eggs out from under her. We passed one egg that was nasty and broken and set our sights on one that was just waiting for Miss Mia. Success! After the drawn-out process of picking up this one egg, we had to move on to picking up bits of candy that the older kids dropped. We also managed to recover half of a plastic egg somewhere else down the street. Mia didn't care. She enjoyed it. I'm pretty sure she thought we were picking up litter.
