Escape attempt: failed

Somebody's mad because she couldn't quite escape from her car seat. She managed to squeeze out of one strap, but it was really unpleasant. I'm pretty sure she's mad at the car seat right now.

A day for love

My grandparents are celebrating their 60th anniversary this Valentine's Day. I wrote a column about them. I'm so proud to be their granddaughter.

Bravery is a jump

When it's cold or rainy, you just have to do what you can do. You take your kid to the mall and let her play inside, even if it seems like a horrifically unsafe playground. Tough times, people. Tough times. But Mia showed off how brave she is when she built up the courage to jump off this thing.

Applesauce

Mia says new words every day, but there's one that just cracks me up every time. Applesauce. She probably wonders why I asked her about it all the time. I can't help myself. It's adorable.

Goodbye to Angi and Dante

Two of our friends, Angi and Dante, are leaving Oklahoma City and heading home to Ohio. We went to their lovely goodbye party. I discovered a couple videos from Christmas that I didn't upload. Oh no! Here they are.

Daycare pals

I thought I better take a minute to snap pictures of Mia at daycare before she gets too big and graduates from high school.

Mia shows off the cots where everyone naps. She enjoys this part.

Mia steals books from the bookshelf. Luckily, she isn't 18, so this isn't a felony yet.

Her pal Troyce has been in the same class with her since they were 6 weeks old. They are what I like to call frenemies.

Mia and Abby are best friends. I tried to take a picture of them together, but they were too busy squishing together in ridiculous hugs.

Maddie has also been in Mia's class for a long time, and they are good pals.



I'm on to you, slide

Like her mother, Mia is generally suspicious of everything. Take this slide, for example.

But at least she enjoyed one of the little bouncy cars, which she immediately told me to get on with complete disregard to physics.
