The best of sports

Mia is the best sport I know. She goes along with whatever. She does whatever. She doesn't cry or fuss. She's so sweet. Her good temperament was proved again tonight, when we had to take her to see the doctor.

She's been wrestling a cough for a couple weeks. It's been pretty faint and sometimes it disappears completely. Well, this weekend was a different story. The cough got serious and Leigh and I agreed it was time to see the doctor. No time to wait for that. Mia had a really hard sneeze and her nose started bleeding. It was so awful. Then she threw up. We decided to avoid the emergency room and go to an after-hours clinic that's affiliated with our doctor's office.

We only had to wait about 45 minutes, and Mia was such a champ. Look at her. Even with a dab of blood on her nose, she's smiling. How can we be so lucky to have such a well-tempered kid?

To pass the time, Leigh decided to give Mia a little entertainment by pushing her around and around the waiting room in a wheelchair. She was a little leery at first, but then every time Leigh put her back on the floor, she wanted back in the chair.

By the way, Mia has an infection in both ears, but the doctor said she would be totally fine. She's got some antibiotics and will be good to go in the next day or two.
