Last night we went downtown for some serious Thunder madness! They lost in the first round of the NBA playoffs to the Lakers in game six. It was an incredible game and an even better season. We hung out with friends in the beer garden before the game. Check out all the people outside the Ford Center. There were bleachers, a massive TV to watch the game live and hundreds of people. It was pretty amazing.
The loss was sad, but the electricity of downtown was palpable. I love the Thunder, and I love what they've done for our town. They've actually turned me into an NBA fan. (Me? Basketball? Really? Yes. I wrote a column about it.) One of our sports columnists, Berry Tramel, has a great column about the game and what the team means to the city.
Despite the loss, we still had a good night out with our friends, as you can see:
